When the Wait Seems to be Long, Maybe It’s Time for You to Move on…

Waiting is overWe can wait for the right time. We can wait for the right moment for a perfect timing. Or, wait ’til we have all the things we need in order to start a new venture. To wait is a virtue, as there is a famous English phrase that goes, “Good things come to those who wait.”

Yes, waiting can be the best thing to do. Like, waiting for the perfect time to talk with your boss, without others listening, especially if it’s a confidential matter. Or, waiting for your visitors to go home before confronting your family members who might have done wrong. Perhaps, waiting for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan is a good decision to give you more time to practice and surely get the gold. These are just among the many instances of waiting that are good and that give us more benefits. Waiting can sometimes save us money and energy, too.

Delaying Plans

Delaying plans in order to assess its reliability and effectiveness is a very effective move. Rather than implementing a weak plan of action, if you have the luxury of time, why don’t you sit down and assess if it’s really the next action that could give you more benefits.

Now, if you are planning to join The Voice or Got Talent shows, yet, you are not that confident, perhaps, next season would be much better that the current one. Unless, if you are all ready, then, give it your best shot. Don’t put yourself and your future in just pure luck. Because no matter how lucky you are in other areas of your life, in competitions like The Voice, you really should be a total package, not just luck, talent and a little confidence.

While waiting is good, it sometimes isn’t healthy anymore. Some examples of waiting ‘in vain’ are the following:

  • Hoping all things will be fine, but you’re not doing anything
  • Waiting for the right person, but, you are too picky to try a relationship
  • Waiting for opportunities that’ll bring you in the spotlight, yet you are too lazy to make a bold move
  • Waiting for your boss to promote you, yet you don’t give extra value to your work
  • Waiting to become the next leader in your community, yet, you are too lazy to lead your family.
  • Dreaming of becoming somebody, but you’re too lazy making it a reality.

Dreaming, hoping and waiting aren’t bad, but without any action, these verbs are simply tantamount to being ‘too lazy.’

Final Thoughts

So, before you decide to wait, ask yourself, “What for?” If your answer is convincing enough, WAIT. But, don’t just sit down and do nothing. Waiting means preparing for something bigger. However, if your answer to the above-mentioned question doesn’t affect you that much, perhaps it’s time for you to pack your things up and move to the next direction. Perhaps, waiting will be just wasting your time.

Waiting for something

Again, you decide whether waiting is essential or not. If waiting seems to be long, maybe it’s time for you to move on!
